to clarify: i don’t think this is Bad. i do, however, think that george is more of a pushover than we the audience (and maybe himself?) likes to think. his hard-assery is highly susceptible to his internal feelings. it’s a bit he puts on for work, for bertha, etc but it’s not his.

lrt also saw a tumblr post about how fandoms lock into ideas about their show and characters during long hiatuses and when the show comes back and does something else, instead of going, "my headcanon/idea got jossed" they get really angry and decide the show is bad now.
