Pakistan failed to internationalise the issue, even admitting at the UN that it was an “uphill task.” The world recognised reality: development beats propaganda.

The Supreme Court’s 2023 verdict cemented the abrogation as lawful and constitutional, ending all debate. It also directed the restoration of statehood and elections—proof that integration strengthens democracy.

Ladakh and Jammu openly celebrated the change. People there saw it as justice long denied: the chance to access the same opportunities as the rest of India.

Employment opportunities followed. With investment came jobs, especially for youth who were once easy targets for separatist recruiters. Economic security became the best defence against radicalisation.

Infrastructure too has advanced. Central laws now extend seamlessly to J&K, bringing investment in roads, schools, healthcare and housing. Article 370’s legal barriers once blocked this progress; its removal unlocked it.
