What you're referring to as "General public reach" is essentially payola. BTS makes GP listen to their songs in Korean, without any radio, which itself is culturally significant and legendary. They don’t rely on radio to push their songs, yet it still reaches GP.
I’ll say it again: BTS is huge because of fandom power, not general public reach. Digital sales ≠ cultural penetration. If your songs aren’t known by kids, grandmas, or people on the most remote islands who don’t care about idols, that’s not longevity. That’s hype, not legend.
