The proposed CA Math Framework states improving math learning for black students as central motivation and has 0 black authors. Instead, one author has alarmingly lucrative consulting deals with school districts with large minority populations, charging $5,000/hr.

@minilek I saw a similar thing in my state of Montana with Native American kids. They asked a group of white teachers (myself included) to come up with activities to help Native students engage in math. Some were quite frankly insulting. (1/2)

@minilek It is misguided to think that the writers of the framework are somehow responsible for black underachievement in mathematics.

@minilek Charter schools!! Let he parents use the vouchers to spend the education dollars where schools are getting results. It’s tha American way. Competition in the marketplace produces better products. Education should be no different.
