@brielleluvs
hey how do you build so much muscle at such a low weight?? strength and muscle tone is really important to me but i find it hard to achieve when i’m losing weight
i’ve noticed recently i haven’t made time for a lot of my hobbies bc food distracts me too much, i just sit and think about food and wait for my next meal :(
—> what to do about insulin resistance
after you finish your meal, take a breath. stand up and go for a walk or do some light exercise. this is shown to lower blood glucose levels and make the cell more sensitive to insulin, triggering those fullness cues!
—> other explanations
of course, it’s possible that you do this and end up still being hungry. this is most likely due to the content of your meal itself rather than a resistance to insulin. try eating meals high in protein and volume eating as much as possible to avoid this.
—> context
so you just finished eating your meal, and you are still hungry! you debate going to grab another snack from the cabinet. but don’t grab that snack yet!! because i’m going to explain why your hunger is lingering despite just eating that big meal.
sometimes, the cell has a hard time responding to insulin and it gets stuck in the blood. this is called insulin resistance. your cells do not receive the energy they need from glucose and thus your brain continues to send hunger signals, which can suck!
if you’ve ruled out all previous explanations and are still feeling hungry, it’s likely because of extreme hunger, which can unfortunately be hard to get rid of :( but walking or moving after meals can still be a great distraction!
next time you finish your dinner, try going for a short walk before reaching for a snack! you might be surprised how full you actually are.

after you eat, enzymes in your body process food into sugar, or glucose molecules that provide your cells with energy. glucose enters the cell with the help of insulin
