why does cut-and-paste in code editors delete as soon as you cut? πŸ€”. think about it, this is actually dumb - how many times have you gotten sidetracked after cutting and accidentally cut/copy again?. cutting should just gray out but not remove text until you actually paste! πŸ˜„.

for the record, this is a third-party provider (Fireworks) since @Kilo_Code currently fails with the official deepseek provider. how reliable are these third-party providers? do we know if they're listing these models truthfully wrt quantization etc? πŸ€”.

lol yeah DeepSeek v3.1 works great. instant Claude killer!. minus little things like inserting Chinese characters into the filenames and completely failing to implement a function according to a clear spec πŸ₯΄

worse, the app itself doesn't recover from this low credit warning. the close button does nothing, the "refresh"-icon does nothing, and the "retry" button at the bottom does nothing either. I had to reload VS Code to recover. πŸ€”

Okay (sigh) you want to know if AI is conscious?. Ask it to "think freely":. See? You can't ask next word prediction to "think freely", it needs input. If you don't understand this, frankly your understanding of AI is *dangerously* childish. 😐.

what are they smoking over there? . their "proposal" is Ukraine should capitulate and give the invaders what they want. wtf? no. leave. return the 20,000 stolen children. frozen funds will pay to rebuild what you destroyed. this war ends when the invader stops invading. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦βœŒοΈ.

you may know about `workbench.editor.labelFormat` in VS Code. forget that!. try `workbench.editor.customLabels.patterns` instead!. this is so much better than the awful built-in label formats VS Code provides. no more "index.js" in every tab label πŸ™Œ

I love coding like this:. flat functions and data structures, nothing more. no big architectural decisions, no time wasted on useless refactoring chores, just write code and test it. so simple and enjoyable πŸ˜„.

serious question: why does locking an issue need to be a feature on @github? πŸ€”. if the maintainers don't want notifications, cool, issue closed, no problem. but why does it need to block people from talking and helping each other out after the fact?. feels very anti-community πŸ˜”.

why does a simple UX tweak need 20 upvotes?. literally requires flipping a boolean to true πŸ₯΄. why is corporate process always so broken. I don't know how the VS Code team gets anything done.

man, the dead internet is real 😐. I *never* would guessed these weren't official web sites for a company and product. I wonder how often this happens?? 😐.

I'll be honest, when I heard "we're building a browser from scratch", I laughed it off. no one can build a browser, that's not actually a thing, right?. but these folks really are building a browser πŸ˜„.

wait, is this so vibe coders can experience the vibe of using CLI tools without actually using them?. so they can get that "context engineering" vibe? 🫣.

I've been experimenting with a very new and super promising form library for React called Zustorm. it puts your form state inside a Zustand container! πŸ’‘. this would be so much cleaner than having half the state in react-hook-form and hald in Zustand πŸ˜„βœ¨.

okay, so it's not just me - the Copilot Agent is trash, I guess. people are telling me "try Cursor", but that's another closed-source black box. how do you get good at using an agent that provides zero insight into its inner workings? trial an error? πŸ™„.
