How???? The major thing that triggers varley was the fact that Portia got new dresses despite the fact that she claimed she couldn’t afford the wages increase. Money wasn’t the issue. Where are you guys watching your own from ????
@jemslastwaltz Money definitely seemed to be the issue especially since it's highly unlikely Portia would let go of a trusted housemaid who has literally been her partner in crime for decades. Especially because giving Varley a raise meant giving the entire staff a raise, which was the problem!
