It’s not the notion of inspection that is necessarily causing many leaders stress; it’s being inspected and judged on things that are far beyond their circle of control. It’s another symptom of the long-held and traditional responsibility of communities and families being

To build our future, we must look to our past. The old adage stands true: it takes a village to raise a child. We’re rapidly learning that the state is not an effective or sustainable proxy for the village, and CEOs must encourage, help, enable and expect every village to play

This is an excellent publication & strong example of leadership collaboration between @ForumStrategyUK & trust/school leaders. Locality, place based leadership is critical for our communities as we renew focus on civic leadership…
“Locality leadership represents a fundamental shift from leading an organisation in a place, to leading as part of the fabric of that place.” Read our new paper on the power of place here:

A lesson I've learnt as CEO is effort & quality of input don't often equate to immediate outcomes. As leaders, if we can look to those we serve & work with & we look ourselves in the mirror to say we are doing our best & we know we're doing what's right, isn't this what matters?

It doesn’t matter how many league tables, frameworks, & metrics you throw at public bodies. If they’re carrying even more of the responsibilities traditionally held by communities, they will stretch and fracture. The public is not a customer! It should be a responsible partner.

Too many CEOs schedule themselves like dentists. Yet the most important thing they need to do - thinking time - is very rarely protected. #BeingTheCEO

Most of this looks eminently sensible. However, let’s not fall into the trap of thinking it will address the major underlying challenges that schools and this generation face from context. It’s a functional, not a strategic, development in an environment where issues such as
Ofsted has unveiled its new report cards with renamed grades and fewer inspection areas, saying inspections will now provide 'absolute clarity' for schools and parents - but the changes have not allayed unions' concerns https://t.co/UpfT4sChjU

Dolores O'Riordan would have turned 54. Happy heavenly birthday. Here is Dolores with The Cranberries performing "Zombie" in Paris, 1999. Her voice was truly unique and her powerful presence on stage was unforgettable.

The fastest @f1 race in history, won by - not least, after today’s performance - the man who is undoubtedly the most complete #F1 driver in history. Never seen a driver outperform a car like this. Legendary stuff. #ItalianGP

Inevitable. It was about competency, congruency and ethics. Why on Earth did Starmer dither? #leadership #Rayner
The Rayner error is a fundamental one. It goes right to the identity of this government. It’s about tax, congruency, & competence. Leadership is about living out and modelling your values. Starmer’s response today will define his tenure. It’s a clear cut resignation matter for AR

Yet another groundbreaking report @ForumStrategyUK & the CEO system leaders programme. It’s time for a big shift in mindset: it is only through the power of place and efforts to rebuild & reinvigorate genuine community that we can address so many of the big issues of our time.
It’s time for the system to shift its mindset; recognising that it is through the power of place, and rebuilding and reinvigorating genuine community, that sustainable change and improvement is achieved Take a look at the 'CEOs as system leaders' paper: https://t.co/YfPODdYGNP
