A lesson I've learnt as CEO is effort & quality of input don't often equate to immediate outcomes. As leaders, if we can look to those we serve & work with & we look ourselves in the mirror to say we are doing our best & we know we're doing what's right, isn't this what matters?

It doesn’t matter how many league tables, frameworks, & metrics you throw at public bodies. If they’re carrying even more of the responsibilities traditionally held by communities, they will stretch and fracture. The public is not a customer! It should be a responsible partner.
