Their stories, starting last year, prompted a bipartisan, statewide backlash. Soon after, Gov. Ron DeSantis reversed himself and later said he'd sign the bill that would prohibit this from ever happening.

It’s hard to ignore the role that the @TB_Times' @MaxChesnes and @mahoneysthename played in exposing - and then stopping - plans to develop our Florida’s state parks with golf courses, hotels and pickleball courts.
