Wild how we get to Selfless, one of the best episodes of season 7 about how you can't really go back, and then one of the worst episodes of the series with Him which is cringey and gross (Although it has some good bits at the end like the bazooka).

Season 7 starts off pretty strong. From Lessons' big Big Bads (and Warren) ending (which is some good hype shit, not gonna lie), to Spike's revelation in Beneath You, to the really creepy demon in Same Place, Same Time."

It's amazing how this season is so deft at things just getting worse when it feels like things have an uptick at points. From the "we won! But it didn't help endings" to Spike doing the worst thing he's done on the show. It's interesting the choice he makes at the end as a demon.

Normal Again is one of those genre show staples where the lead is /actually/ in a mental institution imagining the show and there comfort in that. Especially for Buffy. For me it's the trick but I don't blame anyone for going the other way.

This show has some good drama but I feel the show could be stronger if they had a longer episode order and split stories between them. One week Lucy and Cooper, one week Max and the Vault. That sort of thing.

"I'm tired of crying..." As You Were and Hell's Bells. The disintegration of relationships. It's amazing how season 6 will have them fix the problem/deal with the demon but it doesn't help and things get worse.

"Please don't forgive me. Please!" Dead Things is one of my favourite episodes. The Trio become full on incels and Buffy reveals to Tara how disgusting she finds herself and how she's fallen into Spike's arm through her depression. SMG one of the best cryers in the game.

Smashed, Wrecked, and Gone all showcase how far they're falling. Willow addicted to magic, Buffy depressed and kind of wanting to die or disappear and finding comfort in Spike, Dawn being neglected without a mother. Really sad. Also one of the funniest Spike bits (lol).

I love Tabula Rasa. I love episodes of genre shows where they all temporarily lose their member so they reset to zero for some comedic gold. Randy Giles is just perfection lol. And through the comedy comes melancholy. And Michelle Branch.

The Rip is decent. It looks beautiful - Lighting, the camera work, the anamorphic lenses? Ooooh. If it was more poetic and less meathead, it could've been a modern Heat with that aura farming.

"Once More, with Feeling" the big musical episode. Probably one of the best in the game? Some great tunes, not just doing the typical musical... Music. Buffy lets it slip she was in heaven, gonna break some brains. The episode is in 16:9 but they letterboxed it on the DVD. Evil.
