Take a look at my latest blog about evidence-based policy. I examine how behavioural science can help explain the biases and mental shortcuts that make evidence-based policy difficult.
Calling all Seinfeld and Star Trek fans! @mikedavispier's latest blog is live and asks the question "when faced with big decisions do you react like Cosmo Kramer or Dr. Spock?"

The team at @hopebloomshfx gave me and a few colleagues at @davispierltd a tour and overview of what they’re doing today. I was blown away. I learned so much…they are the epitome of social innovation.

We’ve launched our latest whitepaper — Nudging Government to Use Evidence. We present four strategies, informed by behavioural science, that government and researchers can deploy to improve the use of evidence in policy decisions. https://t.co/aw0tPwbf5n

I think I just watched Dr. Strang fall on his sword about not putting in tighter restrictions last week. @StrangRobert has nothing to be even a bit apologetic about! #Omicron was unpredictable. The science and evidence are just rolling in now. Let’s show him our support!

Anyone working with those experiencing poverty, needs to read and understand these concepts. People aren’t poor simply because they make “bad decisions”; they make “bad decisions” because they’re poor.
Poverty saps the control people have over their lives, and limits their ability to make positive changes. @jsskeffington contributes to this important briefing paper as part of the recent @BPSOfficial From Poverty to Flourishing campaign. Read the briefing paper in full ⬇️

This is a great take on how behavioural science can have an even larger impact on systems. Thanks to @cbcgeek for sharing!

Excited to share the latest thinking from our team at Davis Pier around social innovation labs and how government can use them to solve complex problems - needing to create the conditions for success and then step back.

Two of my favorites! @empathizeothers and @AlfredHFX on the same podcast. These two have been great influences as I’ve worked to better understand issues of inclusion and systemic racism. Can’t wait to listen!
