Here is my latest update regarding this week's special legislative session. I voted against the Democrat's plan to bring gerrymandering back to Virginia.

My speech against the hyper-partisan gerrymandering of Virginia. Virginia should lead, not follow.

My comments a short while ago during a committee hearing on the Democrat redistricting proposal (HJ6007).

House Privileges & Elections Committee is underway. Democrats are presenting their plan to gerrymander Virginia’s congressional districts. In 2020, over 2.7 million voters supported an effort to end gerrymandering in our state. Why go back to the old way of gerrymandering?

My office just issued an official opinion explaining that the constitutionally required process to amend the Virginia Constitution cannot be short-circuited by a last-minute vote of the General Assembly taken during an ongoing election.

While other states raise taxes and chase jobs away, Virginia is attracting investment at historic levels. Let’s keep the good things going! 📈

We still don't know the specifics of the redistricting proposal that Democrats will make. Here's a quick update sharing with you what I know. The House will return to the Capitol at 12 noon on Wednesday.

This shutdown rests squarely on the shoulders of Democrats like Mark Warner and Tim Kaine whose refusal to negotiate in good faith has left essential programs unfunded and millions of Americans–including members of the Armed Forces–in a state of uncertainty.
