Crews battling the #PickettFire today are hoping to turn a corner after successfully minimizing the spread Sunday. But mop up comes with its challenges, including long hikes and some fire fighters getting airdropped to the fire line.

Feels like the #PickettFire smoke hasn’t improved much into the morning, expect to smell some of that smoke as it gets pushed to Lake, Sonoma, and Solano counties in the afternoon.

The inversion layer really pushing down the smoke from the #PickettFire into the valley. Crews are hoping to get out ahead of the fire today as it makes its way along a ridge top.

Crews continue to mop a large apartment fire in San Rafael early this morning. About 50 people are displaced from the 19 unit complex after the fast-growing fire sparked around 5:30a.

The DMV now weighs in: Tesla has been permitted for testing with a safety driver since 2014. Recently, DMV met with Tesla to discuss the company's plans to test autonomous vehicles in the state. As Tesla has not applied for a permit for either driverless testing or deployment.

According to the CPUC, Tesla does not hold an AV permit, which would allow for the testing and deployment of autonomous vehicles with or without a driver.

Despite a report that Tesla would be deploying its AV Robotaxi for testing in San Francisco as early as today with a safety driver, it seems the California CPUC would like a word. (Note that Tesla does have DMV approval for such testing)
