Dissertation has been submitted, Masters in Public Health complete (pending marking). A surreal feeling that two years of hard work is over!

Just submitted my last masters assignment before my dissertation deadline in August. A challenging 18 months of studying whilst working. Feeling a little proud and also relieved that I am nearly there, now for the final hurdle!

Excited to share the first instalment of the public health series @TSM_Journal. This series will explore different aspects of the midwife’s role in public health and support students to reflect on how to promote public health in their own practice.

Year 1 and 100/180 credits of my masters in public health complete after my final submission this evening ✅ This year has seen many late nights, tears and extensions, but I have done it! Now for a brief break and full time midwifing for September before starting my final year.

Day 1 of the social determinants of health module of my public health masters. It has a huge focus on improving maternal and neonatal health, an important reminder of just how essential this public health knowledge is within my role as a midwife.

Today I am starting to write my first MPH assignment, after over a year off from academic writing when studying midwifery. Hoping getting back into an writing headspace isn’t too challenging! ✍️

I am absolutely loving being back at uni to study for my masters. Having dedicated time to learn and explore topics that I am passionate about is so great! Looking forward to my next modules now.

I love my job, but I’m tired. A 15 hour working day with only a 30 minute break is not safe and not sustainable. Inhaling dinner at 2130 and bed for 2200 is not resting and not good for your health.
