I unfortunately knew from a spoiler that the episode would add the moment of AFO naming Yoichi but I expected it to be after this. This is when AFO truely set his sights on the kind of person he wanted to be so it would've made sense to also decide Yoichi's name/identity here
Tbh, I'm not a big fan of the "Yoichi didn't have a name until adulthood" twist. I mean, the whole reasoning behind the name is that to AFO, Yoichi is the first gift he'd ever gotten. It would make much more sense for AFO to come up with that name during their early childhood +1

when Yoichi was infact the only thing he had. Why would he only come up with that as an afterthought so much later on, during a time where he had almost everything he wanted; wealth, power, influence, servitude of the people his debt,,, everything except Yoichi's submission.
