I got back to writing a series about AWS Lambda. Writing is hard, and I'm not good at it. But I force myself to write because it brings clarity to my thinking. Also, I hope I'll get better over time. Starting is the worst part. When I'm into it for some time, it gets easier.

Hot take?. I write Stelvio docs before code. I start with Developer eXperience not implementation. If I can't write clean docs for a feature, the DX will suck. Good DX starts with "how will this feel to use?".

Stelvio brings sane environment management to AWS:. stlv deploy # Your personal sandbox.stlv deploy staging # Shared staging.stlv deploy prod # Production. Each environment is isolated. No resource conflicts. No naming collisions. Built for real teams, not demos.

How I spend time building Stelvio:. 1/3 - Writing code.1/3 - Designing APIs & writing docs.1/3 - Writing tests & testing manually. Good developer experience needs all three equally. Code alone isn't enough.

From zero to deployed API in 60 seconds with Stelvio:. 1. uv init my-api && cd my-api.2. uv add stelvio.3. uv run stlv init.4. [write 20 lines of Python].5. uv run stlv deploy. That's it. Your API is live on AWS. No YAML. No clicking. Just Python.

Anyone have real-world experience with Ty (Astral) or Pyre (Meta)?. Stelvio uses type annotations everywhere but I haven't added a type checker yet. Leaning towards Ty since uv and ruff already work great, but would love to hear experiences with either. What are you using?.
