So we now officially have a lot less sea ice than any other previous year. Sea ice keeps our oceans and atmosphere cool. Sea ice loss is exponential and very hard to reverse. This is called a feedback loop. As oceans warm then more and more ice will melt meaning even warmer

What does Japan buy from America? Mainly coal, soya beans, ether, crude oil, gas, some machinery and corn. Pretty much nothing they cannot get from elsewhere tomorrow. On the other hand practically everything the USA buys is essential. High tech stuff the USA has no idea how to

The S&P 500 started at around 3,800 when Joe Biden took office in Jan 2021 and ended up around 5,600 by Jan 2025. A gain of roughly 47% over 4 years, or about 12 % p.a.

I used to be a shipping insurance lawyer. If only 10% of a shipping company's fleet is undeployed they struggle to break even. These tariffs are going to kill them.

The only protests in the USA that will get noticed by the folk who make decisions are not paying rent or taxes, not buying unnecessary stuff and not going to work. Oh and selling all your US dollars and all your shares.

All of these stock markets worldwide are bubbles. Valued at around 3 times their real worth. The tariffs were the pin that pricked them. That means that even if the tariffs are removed, the air will still come out. It's unlikely that a pricked bubble can be unpricked.

About half of US dollars are held overseas. They are kept is reserve by countries to use for trade. It has always been seen as stable and reliable. There is about $12 trillion in circulation altogether. So is fairly easy to see the USD losing at least 10% of its value pretty

The Australian Share Market the ASX fell another 6% as it opened for the new week just now. The Trump Recession is beginning to bite hard worldwide. Waiting for signals to buy back in but as of right now there is nothing.
