Last week I wrote about the CEO of AthleticTIMING, whose child sex abuse charges went unnoticed by the track world for nearly a year. I wanted to know how this happened, how the systems designed to catch this failed. Here's what I found out: https://t.co/vwn682Aml9

The U.S. Center for SafeSport didn't have Daniel Bowdoin's name in its system for nearly a year after the timing CEO was charged with rape.

New on the case of Daniel Bowdoin, the Athletic Timing CEO who was charged with five counts of child sexual abuse in 2024: He passed a USATF background check done by NCSI—the firm used by the USOPC, and many other sports bodies—in March 2025. https://t.co/nvLaoqZiLz

The track world didn't know a major timing company's CEO had been charged with child sex abuse while he continued to work and attend meets. USATF tells FOS that he passed an outsourced background check four months after the charges. Story by @mgfleming12 ⬇️

The CEO of Athletic Timing--a ubiquitous company in running--was charged with raping a child in November 2024. When he was released weeks later, his agreement let him work track meets, and he petitioned a judge to work more meets with minors present.

The state of Oregon brought child sexual abuse charges against Daniel Bowdoin in 2024, but he continued working in track and staffing meets.

In March, a judge said he would not have let the CEO out on release, and wasn’t sure how he was out on these charges. He went on to work four track meets this year, including the Cascade Conference Championships in May.

A major track timing company CEO was charged with child sex abuse, according to court documents obtained by FOS, and it flew under the sport's radar for almost a year. SafeSport, USATF, and AthleticTIMING didn't know about the charges until after he worked four meets this year.

SCOOP from my colleague @mgfleming12: The White House posted a graphic mocking Zohran Mamdani that looked like the Knicks logo. A source close to the Knicks tells @FOS the team reached out to the White House abt the post. WH voluntarily took it down. https://t.co/9NFCsGQmRf

The White House tweeted this after Mamdani's win last night, mocking New Yorkers and the new mayor. They deleted the post a few hours later. @mgfleming12 has the scoop on why: they heard from the Knicks.

The Knicks reached out to the White House about the "Trump Is Your President" post, and they voluntarily took it down, a source tells me. Two weeks ago, the team sent Zohran Mamdani a cease & desist for using his own altered Knicks logo in a campaign ad. https://t.co/dKdy2Snh5R

I asked about it, and the post was voluntarily removed, no C&D:

The New York Knicks sent the Mamdani campaign a cease and desist letter for using their logo without permission. I'd be curious to see if the Knicks gave the White House permission to use the logo. And, if not, whether they will send the White House a cease and desist.

Following the report of a break-in at SGA's house last night, I thought I'd re-share our full timeline of athlete home burglaries. According to our count, two dozen athletes have been targeted since Sept. 2024: https://t.co/sxqGNxCTQ6

The reported cases are largely in men’s pro sports, and the ring appears to have largely targeted NFL and NBA players.
