Coastal front just collapsed back to the east. Temp dropped from 27F to 13F in about 10 minutes!

This was taken about 30 minutes ago. Still ripping snow and wind! Considerable blowing and drifting occuring!

As of 10pm here at BHO, snowfall is upto 17.1", melted to 1.42" of liquid. Still moderate snow and 24F. Considerable blowing and drifting snow. We have already smashed the snowfall record for the day of 12.5" set in 1941. @WX1BOX @NWSBoston

Temps in the 20s on the "warm" side of the coastal front.. even on the Cape! This is just not something we see in these parts often. Goes to show just how cold this overall arctic air mass is! Amazing!

All things come to an end, and this one ended with a bang. First 6"+ snowfall in 4 years, and first 12" snowfall in 4 years, and maybe first 20" snowfall in 4 years because why not? We only have banger patterns or boring patterns here. #wbz

Sorry for the delay, 00z was busy. As of 7pm (00z) at BHO we had 12.1" of snow with 1.00" liquid. Just a FYI, the record snowfall for today's date is 12.5" set in 1941! @WX1BOX @NWSBoston

This was back on Wednesday morning.. sometimes things are easier to "see" when the pattern cooperates! I also recommend trying to ignore model noise. More models and more runs per day isn't necessarily a good thing. Data overload is a thing! https://t.co/vc9isgbjq1
@BostonWxConsult Imo, there should be no trend back to the S. I think we're as close to locked in as you'll see at this range. We'll see what recon data does starting tomorrow night. Also they'll be flying recon (research) missions into the atmospheric river in the Pac starting tonight.
