i was in elementary school before i learned that your parents cousins were not also your aunt and uncles because that is how we’ve always referred to them…the concept of second cousins/cousins removed does not exist in families. and i am aunt to all of my cousins babies now?

i go out of my way to avoid saying this re: literature bc it is reductive and often borderline gender essentialist, but a man quite literally could not have written frankenstein as it is in the time mary shelley wrote it and zero feminist critique is needed to realize that 😭

it is still absolutely ridiculous to start to celebrate christmas prior to halloween, so sorry. before you ‘only americans care about halloween like that!’ it is october and a solid two months of nonsense genuinely ruins the spirit and excitement of christmas imo!
