Soap, who's used to being cheated on. It's happened...an unfortunate amount of times in the past, so he's very used to it. He's reacted every way possible; gotten pissed off, threw things, cried, screamed, tried to fight his ex partner, the person they were cheating on him with,

etc etc. So, when it happens again, Soap is calm. He packs up his now ex's things, is extremely methodical about picking them out from his own and if he's uncertain, decides to just give it to them anyway. He packs bag after bag and when he's done, he sets them all up outside of

his apartment with a note on top that says to take it and never contact him again. He's blocked their number and taken their spare key. As he moves to walk back into his apartment, he finally notices he has an audience, his elusive next door neighbour. Soap knows his name is

Simon, but the day he'd moved in and introduced himself, the man had asked for Soap to call him Ghost. "Sorry...the mess should be gone in a couple hours." "Something happen?" Ghost asks. He's leaned against his doorframe, arms crossed over his chest. "You look...too calm."

Soap smiles. "Because I am. Cheaters aren't new to me is all. Does me no good to get all upset, yunno?" He doesn't know why he's telling Ghost this, but maybe it's because he /is/ upset about it despite the lack of anger flooding him, just a little bit. But he's barely ever

talked to Ghost before. This is probably their longest conversation. "That's a shame." Ghost murmurs. He looks over the array of bags Soap had laid out. "You don't deserve that." Soap...blushes. What? He's barely gotten over his ex and he's already blushig about another man?

He needs to get himself together. "I'm used to it." He says, and Ghost clicks his tongue. "Want to have dinner with me?" ....what? Huh??? "What?" Soap actually asks out loud. "Doesn't have to mean anything. Can be as friends, I help you get over a 'bad' breakup. But

leaving you all alone tonight, it would put a bad taste in my mouth." Soap should say no. He barely knows Ghost outside of the man being his neighbour, but /fuck/, Soap can't get the word out. After what feels like too long of a silence, Soap finally nods. "Yeah, okay."

Ghost smiles, and /fuck/, he's.../really/ attractive. Soap had noticed that in the back of his mind already, of course, but he'd never paid too close attention, being a taken man and all. But now that he's not, he can appreciate Ghost entirely. "Good. You can come over at 7. See

you then." With that, Ghost heads back into his apartment, closing the door behind him, leaving Soap just standing out there in the hall. The only thing that finally gets him moving is the sound of familiar footsteps coming up the stairs. His ex. He flees back to his own
