soapghost au where Soap is a childrenβs book writer and illustrator. He has a very popular and well known series about a young boy and his scary but kind imaginary friend. What no one knows is that itβs based on Soapβs own childhood.
At some point, he begins to catch his
daughter talking to no one. He attributes it to normal child stuff until he hears her utter an awfully familiar name: Ghost.
Soap tries to convince himself itβs just a coincidence but his curiosity gets the best of him and he starts asking her more about her new friends. Sorcha
is quiet about it at the beginning, shy and hesitant, but then she starts to slowly talk about the tall blond man with a skull mask over his mouth that plays tea party with her whenever Soap is busy with work.
She describes him more and more and Soap realizes sheβs describing
the same exact man he himself had spent so much time with as a child. Soap canβt believe it. Itβs too much of a coincidence, but at the same time, thereβs no way itβs /not/ a coincidenceβ¦right?
Soap starts spending every bit of free time he has with Sorcha, neglecting his work
for a bit, but not in a way thatβll cause any huge problems. Sorcha carries on like absolutely nothing has changed, not shy at all about talking to βGhostβ in front of Soap despite the fact that Soap canβt see or hear him at all. Not that he thinks he ever will. Because Ghost is
fakeβ¦right?
But Soap starts to feel the weight of someone staring at him whenever heβs alone. Drives him a little crazy. Heβs not being haunted, is he? Ironic that it would be a man named Ghost thatβs haunting both him and his daughter.
Soap wakes up sometimes in the middle
of the night to the faintest brushes of touch against his skin. One night, it had felt like lips against his cheek. But he never sees anything.
Despite his worries about being haunted, Soap doesnβt feel unsafe, and Sorcha is extremely happy, both to be spending time w Ghost as
well as Soap.
Eventually, Soap wakes up again the middle of the night. This time, itβs to the sound of a gruff voice singing softly. Soap hasnβt heard that song in /so/ many years, but he immediately recognizes it.
βGhost?β He calls out with hesitation. The singing stops, but
tysm to everyone who enjoyed the first part of this, i truly was just rambling at like 2am, but anyway!!! part 2!!

For a moment, Soap doesn't reply. His next breath gets caught in his lungs and the weight of the hand on his hip doesn't shift, doesn't move. There's no warmth,
@Riuka686
thank you!!! I wanted soap to catch on slowly. The more he starts to believe ghost is real, the more he can hear and sense him like he did as a kid!!!
