Seeing one of the largest cosplay creators in the world not only fail to credit the people they bought their 3d models from, but also /edit clips into the video of the bought file open in Blender with them on the PC so it looks like they're modelling it/ is really really gross.

I really need non cosplayers/non competing cosplayers to understand that contest judges are judging the quality of the CRAFTING, not the quality of the DESIGN. Something "simple" looking can and will win over a giant, flashy, elaborate costume, if it's of a higher skill level.

Ok my last tweet on this but the fact is:.Kamui judges high level cosplay contests. The last one she judged was Twitchcon! By Twitchcon's rules, if you stated that your costume was 100% self made, and they found out you didn't make the models, you would be DISQUALIFIED.

More conventions should do winners and judges panels the day after big cosplay contests, so they judges can discuss why they chose the winners, and then they can talk about the crafting process and give more insight into why it deserved to win.

I think what some cosplayers need to understand that it's 1000% ok for you to make personal choices to be unsafe with your work (hell I absolutely do) but you CANNOT include footage of said dangerous acts in your tutorials, especially if you have over 1 million followers.

@uhhkyra i think film 1 did it so perfectly, was shot so perfectly in how you felt unnerved and scared during the games and in district 12 with the shaky cam etc, and then the next 3 films were just too polished.

On the topic of cosplay contests - reminder that buying expensive equipment doesn't equal buying skill. Sure, it makes it easier, but saying 'Its impossible to win cosplay contests without pro equipment' is incorrect, and devaluing to all the hard work of competitors!.

For painting and weathering - don't just slap blood/dirt on your props and costumes. Think about the story being told. What position the drips would be in because of gravity. Have they wiped it away before? Tell a story and it will look more real.
