We were so happy to have Samia Henni with us this week for her #MediaEnvironment lecture: Based on the book, she presented three media through which these histories and stories have been exposed: a series of translations, a travelling exhibition and a book.

Meticulously culled together from across available, offered, contraband, and leaked sources, this book brings together nearly six hundred pages of materials documenting the violent history of France’s nuclear bomb programme in the Algerian desert.

The paper examines contending material forms these auctions take in ‘open display’ advertising and how they have been challenged by decentralized ‘header bidding’. One of their key arguments is that ad platforms should be seen as ‘stack economization’ processes.

Activist research embodies working with activists rather than just about them and fosters a more equitable and engaged relationship between academia and society. #activistresearch #ethicalcoproduction #researchforchange #warsensing #bicyclemedia #cooperativemedia.

Together w/ scholars and activists, we reflected on research approaches that prioritise ethics, social justice, and collaboration. Key discussions emphasised moving beyond traditional science communication by fostering collaborative knowledge production with "issue publics".

Based on the workshop, we identified key themes of ethical knowledge production and how to address precarity, bias and social justice through activist-academic collaborations.
