The City of Vaughan has partnered with Canada Soccer to explore the feasibility of a phased approach to a National Training Centre at the 900-acre North Maple Regional Park, the most ambitious park development in the city’s history.

Today, at a special event at North Maple Regional Park, a plaque was unveiled to commemorate the continued advancement of the 900-acre park with key partnerships and construction underway.

Congratulations David Di Benedetto on the launch of C3 Labs, Mike Soragnese on the grand opening of the new studio space for Render Media and Louie Chiaino on the inaugural art exhibition in the Boxx Art Gallery space in the heart of the VMC. I wish you all continued success!

Smart City initiatives are already changing how cities plan for the future and today our panelists brought extensive experience to this discussion which ranged from the role of Smart Cities in the modern world to how AI and data contribute to urban development.

I joined an esteemed lineup of thought leaders at the Bracing for Impact Conference: The Future of AI for Society, to discuss how Artificial Intelligence will influence the future of smart cities, health and the legal profession.

Tonight, I presented the Order of Vaughan, the City of Vaughan’s highest honour, to six exceptional citizens who are making a meaningful difference to our city.

I had the privilege of touring with the families, the Simulation Lab and Clinical Teaching Lab with @MackenzieHealth nursing staff and got to see how the smart technology assists nurses.

Thank you to the De Gasperis & Kohn Family's for their generous contributions to the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. Your donation has helped Mackenzie Health create a state of the art Learning Centre, where new and current doctors and nurses can go learn and enhance their skills.

The poppy is a powerful symbol that manifests our gratitude to the selfless men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for democracy, human rights and the rule of law. We will never forget!
