Today I am taking my mayors hat off and putting on a Sr. Planner hat for an Urban Planning Exercise hosted by the Urban Land Institute. Continuing education is vital and something I am focusing on heavily with the City’s staff.

In Boston with industry, government, & higher education leaders from Central Indiana to learn more about how they created a global ecosystem around life sciences. There are real opportunities in Westfield for this industry.

Spending the week in Boston, participating in Jeff Speck’s seminar called “The Walkable City”. Excited to learn and bring home world class ideas that will transform Westfield’s trails and downtown area!

Attended the Memorial Day service at Summit Lawn Cemetery hosted by Scouting Troops 107 and 1070. So appreciative of these young men and women who quietly perform this and lay flags at the gravesides of over 200 veterans in the cemetery. #MemorialDay

Excited to announce our city’s first ever Comprehensive Infrastructure Plan. This lays out infrastructure projects over the next 8 years, investing $186M into our roads, bridges, and trail system. Oh by the way, the plan is tax neutral!!

I recently learned that Duke Energy filed a rate case with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. While I understand the need for investment to maintain reliable service, an increase of 16% would burden residents at a time when Duke is showing a 17% surge in profit for 2023.

Had the honor of presenting at the Purdue Road School Conference on “The Role of Owner’s Representation in Public Works Projects”. Changing the way we do projects in Westfield to ensure projects come in on time and under budget.

Got a sneak peek this morning of our new library. This is going to be a transformational piece to our downtown area. So excited to see this open up later this Spring!

Had a great time sharing my vision for Westfield with the Chamber of Commerce today.

In 2023, the City of Westfield saw 2 new development projects come before City Council. In the first 5 weeks of my administration, we have entertained 8! Excited to see some exciting projects and much needed amenities coming to our city.

Road crews have been out all night plowing snow and started in neighborhoods around 1:00 AM. With the forecast of sunshine all day, this should be a better day for driving. Stay safe Westfield.

Spending the day at AIM Boot Camp Training learning the ropes of being a mayor in a Class 3 city.

I’m looking forward to having a leader like Danny Lopez in the Statehouse working on behalf of Westfield residents.
