Celebrating SHCJ 175 years. Did you know? In 1946, the Mayfield community held a mass at St. Andrew Church to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Society's founding. According to the school journal entry it was quite the event!

Connect and create. Inspired by MLK and Langston Hughes, Ms. Mercado’s 7th grade English students looked inward and around them to write a personal wish for the world. See and hear their vision in the link.

Celebrating SHCJ 175 Years. One founding led to another. In 1862, 16 years after the Society was formed, Cornelia sent sisters to Towanda, PA to begin the foundation of Holy Child education in America we carry on today. The challenges were many but the sisters were determined!

Celebrating SHCJ 175 years. Did you know? The European Province is centering their celebration on an oak tree planted by Cornelia Connelly at St. Leonards in England symbolizing past, present and future.

Students of history know the best way to understand and learn about the past is to read the stories and testimonies of those who lived it. In a collaborative history and English project, 8th graders added their voices to history with a COVID Time Capsule.

The beginning of this school year has been different, yet the pace, tone and energy are somehow still recognizable. How different is the dynamic in remote learning versus in-person learning? What is still true? A few thoughts:
