Last month, after a lot of thought, I made the decision to join @alphacolin & the amazing team at @CustomerIO. After two decades of being a founder, this choice surprised me, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to do my best work here. It's a new Day 1, AMA.

The year is 2045. The college football playoff field has expanded to 128 teams. There are riots in the streets of El Paso after UTEP was left out for a UL Monroe team it beat earlier in the season.

Nick Saban on Miami vs. Notre Dame: “Look at the game. Miami was the more physical team in the game. Jeremiyah Love gained 33 yards in the game. They won on the line of scrimmage. They kicked Notre Dame’s ass in the game, alright? That’s totally not being considered.”

If you’ve ever built software at scale, the whole “death of software” thing is hilarious. Companies don’t win by vibe-coding their own CRM on a Tuesday night. They win by solving problems for their customers, not by moonlighting as Salesforce. It feels badass to walk into a
Just met a company that vibe coded an entire CRM to avoid paying for HubSpot or SFDC over the last year. It’s now become a burden to maintain and missing key functionality / third-party interoperability as they scale… They’re now migrating to HubSpot. App layer is fine.

College football fandom is splitting along a divide between spectators and gamblers. Spectators praise on-field results (the past). Gamblers only care about predictions and odds (the future). In theory these are compatible, but they are not the same.

SMU is rated higher than Tennessee, LSU, Auburn and South Carolina and two spots behind Missouri in Sagarin. All those teams propping up SEC resumes. CFP even mentioned what a great win that was for Bama at Auburn.
Sick of people talking about two 8-4 teams like they’re bad. As recently as Nov. 17, Louisville was ranked in the Top 20 of the CFP poll. They’re undefeated when healthy. As recently as Nov. 23, SMU was ranked No. 21 in the CFP poll. The hell we talking about?

If the #miamihurricanes don’t make the #cfp I expect full meltdown energy. I’m talking petitions, voodoo candles, and aunties yelling at the TV.

Miami stays at 12 after beating the 22nd ranked team by 31 on the road. Bama moves up a spot by beating a 5-6 Auburn team with no coach on the final possession. Makes sense. SEC logic.

These fucking idiots on the committee watched Alabama almost lose to a 5-7 Auburn team and moved them up. The agenda is beyond gross. But hey. That conferences leaders SPEAK THE LOUDEST, while the @ACCFootball leaderships sits with their thumbs squarely in their asses, SILENT.

Notre Dame's biggest arguments for the CFP are 1) We've improved since week one 2) we lost close games to good teams. As it relates to Miami 1) Miami improved too. Freshman Malachi Toney is now one of the - if not the most - dangerous all-purpose players in the country...
