Indeed, there are 2 alternative options:.1. using Babel fee smart contracts, like @FluidTokens Aquarium or @hlabs_tech design. 2. bringing a new capability to the ledger called "Nested Transactions".

The other inconvenience is that we are dependent on this exact service provider and UTxO to agree and automatically sign the Tx we send them. But what if I told you there are ways to improve it even further?.

Of course this specific example has a couple inconveniences, like the min ada UTxO of 1 $ADA, but if we were interacting with a smart contract instead, we would’nt have this issue because we could spend and recreate a UTxO from the smart contract.

You can make Bitcoiners do everything just with $BTC, and make normies do everything just with $USD. That’s Babel Fees in a nutshell.

From Alice point of view, and from what her wallet will display when signing, she only needed $USDM to send $USDM to Bob! And if the wallets and the DApp care about UX, it can make it seemless for people who don’t care about $ADA.

See what happend? Alice only paid $USDM, 10 went to Bob, and 1.24 went to the service provider. The service provider covered both the 0.24 $ADA fees and the 1 $ADA min ada UTxO for the output sent to Bob.
