Here is #Spurs managing partner Peter J. Holt’s statement on today’s vote: . “Today’s vote is an important step forward for San Antonio. I want to thank the members of City Council, the City staff and County for their leadership, diligence and collaboration in helping us reach.

Before the Item 5 vote this afternoon, San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones expressed her intent to motion for a revenue bond to be included on the November ballot along with the venue tax. Though not required by law, it allows voters a say on part of the city's contribution.

BREAKING: Item 5, which gives San Antonio City Manager Erik Walsh the go-ahead to continue negotiations with the #Spurs on a term sheet for a new downtown arena carries, 7-4. Residents will now be able to vote on the county's contribution of $311 million in November. #PorVida.
