I was here recently and this specific area is a craphole! Vibandas and shanties everywhere, pedestrian walkways grabbed, filth and clogged open drainage and leaking sewers. The place rn doesn't look anything close to this. It's a filthy shithole!

If you think about it, there might not be a dramatic collapse. Just slow, and sombre. An extra trashbag here, a new pothole there, a new open drain here, 600 fatalities in a hospital etc. A slow and steady degradation of our already low standards of living.

I have been doing a lot of soul searching , trying to understand what the issue with Kenya is. After a 5 year thought process , I have a conclusion that Kenya’s problem is not the government, but the people.
