New paper out in the International Journal of Business Communication, using corpus linguistics to study crisis communication strategies throughout the Boeing 737 Max crisis.

It was great to work on this video and give a neat overview of how corpus linguistics can be used to study discourse. I did a little interview to go along with it too, check it out here:

Just read this great paper by Fang Xie which builds on our work in variational politeness and this time looks at trends across the UK, Aus, and HK. Further evidence that politeness is linked w/ urbanisation (but moderated by pragmatic transfer).
