Here they are. The interesting times we were promised. Just as cursed as we assumed.
Just to clarify: this isn’t just the first time since WW2 that all incumbent parties in developed countries lost vote share. It’s the first time since this data was first recorded in 1905. Essentially the first time in the history of democracy (universal suffrage began in 1894).

Goodbye, virtual friends. We've just locked the doors to the Writers Room and will spend the next weeks throwing away the keys (i.e. cancelling services). On the bright side: I can work on something even more exciting now!.
Today it's time to say goodbye to the Writers Room. AI has moved fast and furious in the last few months - & while we were able to grow our product to over 10000 users, unfortunately we couldn’t attract enough paying customers to make it economically viable.

I was in (a calm, mostly dry) Valencia last week. Can hardly believe the images I'm seeing. And it's only going to get worse over the next years. Time for some real changes to how humanity behaves on this fragile planet.

What all of the above examples of bottom-up media have in common is that they exist outside the commercial sphere. So the revolution in the post (and it's not the first of this kind) is strictly limited to commercial arts.

I share most of this sentiment. Except that I'd not say traditional media is as one-directional. Music comes from playing an instrument at home. Writing poetry for yourself is perfectly possible. I know a lot of hobby game developers.
Runway is not an AI company. Runway is a media and entertainment company. And I actually think the era of AI companies is over. It's not because AI failed - quite the opposite. It's because AI is becoming infrastructure, as fundamental as electricity or the internet. Calling.
