Excited to share the CFP for the inaugural MLSys industry track. Timeline and format are the same, but industry track papers focus on the design and/or evaluation of real world systems. Novelty is not a requirement. The deadline is October 30, 2025:

One of the things I love about Google is that we are relentless optimizers. This is a great example of multiple research teams coming together to optimize our data center systems infrastructure:

AI for Hyperscale Cloud Efficiency: A LAVA framework to optimize VM allocation using continuous reprediction of a job's remaining lifespan, a method more robust than single-point guesses. The NILAS algorithm from the LAVA trio has been running in Google's production data centers

AI/ML-based system infrastructure that learns and dynamically adapts to changes holds incredible promise, but building models deep into the systems stack has been a longstanding challenge. Here we discuss our approach that enabled us to deploy this in Google's cloud data centers.
Scheduling virtual machines (VMs) is like a puzzle game with disappearing pieces. Here we present LAVA, an AI-based scheduling algorithm that continuously re-predicts & adapts to the lifetimes of VMs to optimize resource efficiency in cloud data centers.

One more week! Enough time left to put together your wild and crazy idea for ASPLOS – submissions only require a 5-min video.
The submission deadline for the ASPLOS 2025 Wild And Crazy Ideas (WACI) session is on Feb 10. WACI is a wonderful tradition where presenters give 5-10min talks about an often humorous but always "WACI" topic in front of the ASPLOS audience. Details below!

It was really fun to present BRAINSTORM at the WACI session with @martin_maas and Mangpo Phothilimthana at #Asplos24! BRAINSTORM is a fun demonstration of how powerful LLMs are at creating quality content. https://t.co/c1RuK1FHFv

Delighted that our ASPLOS’20 paper on ML for memory management was selected as a Research Highlight and published in the Communications of the ACM. Our paper asks what happens if you put ML into a memory allocator, which led to surprising results with implications beyond memory.

We have extended the deadline of @PacmiWorkshop at MLSys’23 to 3/31/2023. There is still enough time to write up your experiences and ideas about ML-driven systems! Papers are 1-4 pages and don’t need to contain experimental results – but should spark interesting discussions.

The 2nd PACMI workshop submission deadline has been extended to March 31, 2023. Our apologies for the confusion by tweeting that the deadline was May 17 instead of March 17 earlier. Papers can be lightweight (1-4 pages) and do not require experimental results.
