I was greeted by this grim sight when I arrived at Loch Paible today. This lost/discarded fishing net had five dead baby seals entangled in it. It’s so sad that this has had such tragic consequences.

This Puss Moth was so well camouflaged on the path that I nearly trod on it. Also a fantastic Emporer Moth, which has to be one of the best moths in the UK.

Bit of novelty value on Balivanich beach, Benbecula today. A leucistic Turnstone. The local gulls took exception to it and continually chased it round the beach, probably wondering what it was.
