Wishing all of our students, teachers, and staff a very happy and successful first week of school! We have some of the best schools in the nation here in the 27th District and I'm proud to support them and our students in Springfield.

Illinois is erasing nearly $1 billion of medical debt for our residents. And we’re making sure that it’s not included on your credit report.

I’m deeply honored to have been appointed as the new State Senator for the 27th District. Former Senator Gillespie leaves behind a huge legacy but I’m excited to represent the residents of the 27th advocating for an Illinois for all. I couldn’t do it without your support.

Illinois ranked #2 nationally in the number of new projects in 2023! 552 projects immediately outpacing Ohio, California, New York, & Georgia. Illinois is also #2 nationally in projects per capita. Fantastic news but @IMA_Today won’t rest until we’re #1! https://t.co/LWHv7sks4H

Since 1989, there have been 6 Presidents: 3 R and 3 D. We've created over 50 million jobs during that period. 49 million of them were created under Democratic Presidents. That's not a coincidence.

Republican party leaders and their billionaire donors are betting that women and their allies will not turn out and vote to protect reproductive rights -- and they're wrong again. Thank you Ohio.

Ohio Issue 1, the GOP-backed initiative to make it harder to pass a constitutional amendment, overwhelmingly defeated 60-40 with 40% in. Uihlein-Proft-Timpone band burns millions more on another big defeat.

Our unemployment has been under 4% for 17 months in a row—the longest stretch in over 50 years. That’s a result of Bidenomics.

There will be a lot of picking over the entrails. But my read is that underlying inflation looks as if it's fallen to ~3% without any rise in unemployment (and with overall employment, adjusted for age, at its highest level ever) 3/

Yes of course. There are no boundaries with "blurred lines". The linkages between corporations and the CCP are direct, clear and legally required in the PRC. This has been the reality for decades.

"The blurred lines between PRC-based companies and the CCP means that any attempt by a 'private' business from the PRC to lobby in the U.S. could mean direct influence by the CCP in our national affairs." I wrote in @Newsweek about closing this loophole. https://t.co/AeFsUc42gL

For decades, we dithered and ignored the warnings and the science. Now we're paying the price. Yet some STILL promise to roll back common sense measures necessary to TRY and prevent today's disaster from becoming tomorrow's irreversible catastrophe.

In case you were on a different planet and missed the big news, we have now had 11 days in a row setting new all-time modern global temperature records, peaking at 17.233°C on July 6, quite possibly the hottest 11 days globally in the last 100,000+ years. https://t.co/SycQNYfGYD

One reason liberals should fight and win the culture war is that decency and tolerance are, for most people, self-evident values that have the mantle of righteousness. It often doesn’t take a lot of convincing to rally ordinary people behind these fundamental moral principles.

Fascinating: A focus group of Minnesota swing voters flatly rejected DeSantis's anti-LBGT video and rhetoric, with many viewing it as "troubling." (link: https://t.co/jMygCkgqyr) Stop privileging the far right in this debate. The sane center opposes this culture war madness.

VP Harris just set the record for tie-breaking votes in the US Senate. What a scary thought. We're that close to the precipice.
