Insightful.
This is a good time to point out how cybersecurity has become a business of transferring accountability to third parties (you don't buy security, you buy someone to blame when it all goes down). But it's largely symbolic since nobody is liable, and this might even be a feature.

Also it's wild to me that United or whoever is presumably paying annual per-seat licenses for each of these screens when they could be extremely cheap Linux boxes. They are just signs!

A prime and unfortunate example of what #TechnicalDebt can do. We tend to not really understand that these systems are in charge of peoples' lives. I hope NJ will be able to do the #COBOL work it needs. Then we must #Modernize these systems! (not just NJ)
