A Snow Bunting in a snow storm. The Cairngorms weather brought around 40 down the mountains to the carpark giving great photo opportunities.

Today I saw my first Hoopoe around Corralejo (Feurteventura) since arriving on Christmas Eve. Previously we had them nesting in the hotel gardens and were guaranteed then around the Parque Natural but their numbers have dramatically reduced.

‘challenging conditions’ was an understatement. Weather was horrendous at Dawlish Warren on Friday. Just thankful the Lesser Crested Tern coped better with the weather.

After the news came out that a Scopoli’s Shearwater had been photographed during the Scilly pelagic on Friday, I had a look through mine on the camera and was chuffed to bits I had captured it too!
