One reason why I support this punishment is because it offers the population an appropriate consequence for violent behaviour. Knowing this punishment, people will reduce committing crimes. That this punishment is approved does not mean that it is applied to everyone.

I do not consider it to be a tasteful punishment, since taking someone’s life is something very heavy. It is the ultimate denial of human rights when implemented. Death penalty is also a way to provide justice for victims while keeping them and population safe.
