Until today, I am still quietly investing in stocks and monitoring my progress toward financial independence. If you're interested in reading more about it, here's my old article on FI: https://t.co/NK6Fl3hkWQ

Financial independence is not about being rich, it is about the freedom you have in life. Here are a few things you need to know about FI.

Money is not the end goal. The ultimate goals for me: - Have options - Travel the world - Work on things I love - Buy things that I enjoy - Spend more time with family Freedom is my goal, and money enables me to buy it. Aim for the goal, not the tool.

ASM fund size increased by RM5 billion. But all the โAโ jargon is kind of confusing. Here's everything you need to know about them.

Personally, I enjoy expense tracking. Because I'm a nerd and enjoy looking at my savings in exact numbers. Didn't realize that I have been doing it for 8 years. ๐ Here are my reasons why I prefer tracking my expenses: https://t.co/VK8ap6bMr4

If you want to get serious about finance, expenses tracking is one of the best ways to start. As they said, what gets measured gets managed.

The funny thing about personal finance is, there is no one fixed way to do it. Some love budgeting. Some love tracking expenses. Some love to save first, spend later. As long as you can save money and reach your goal, any method is fine. So, chill and choose your own path. ๐

Let say my basic monthly salary is RM5k. But after deducting EPF, SOCSO, and PCB, my salary becomes RM4.3k (deduct ~15%) So I prefer to tell myself that my income is only RM4.3k, not RM5k. This way I won't overspend my money. It works for me.

If you are always anxious about money, here's my bet: You did not track your finance (yet). Questions to ask yourself: ๐ธ How much have you spent last month? ๐ฐ How much have you saved last month? ๐งพ What's your monthly fixed expenses? ๐ฃ How much debts do you have in total?

When they say "Average return of this fund (stocks) is 8%", it is not: 2019: 8% 2020: 8% 2021: 8% 2022: 8% 2023: 8% Usually it is: 2019: -4% 2020: 18% 2021: 5% 2022: -16% 2023: 22% Stock investment =/= Fixed deposit. It is volatile, hence need to invest for the long-term.

I love managing my money in a minimalist way. 1โฃ credit card 1โฃ E-Wallet 1โฃ Life + CI insurance w/ Medical Card 5โฃ or less investments โ Not keeping foreign currency in cash It may against most money advice, but it works for me because it saves me time & effort on my finance.

I am still figuring out the routine, goals and everything else for my content creation journey. But 1 thing I know is I will take it slow, so it will be sustainable and I won't have to take a break anymore. Oh 1 more thing, I love to continue share my life and inspire others.

5/ Dopamine A neurotransmitter that makes you feel good when you engaged activities like gaming, or after exercise. During my break, I played games, a lot. This caused dopamine spike and I feel bored very fast. So I did a dopamine detox to reset: https://t.co/iBpLrmKOzw

4/ Embrace Boredom When Mavis is alone with her toys, she become creative. She loves role-playing with her toys: Crocodile as teacher, fish as students, and ducks as parents. We like to think boredom as a bad thing, but it's not. Embrace boredom, let your creativity flow in.

3/ Slow Living People wants everything to be fast - losing fat, marriage, become rich But where are we rushing to? Recently I practice slowing down my walking and eating, and embrace little moments like sunset. Here's the video which inspire me: https://t.co/iAyvguoWMo

2/ Raising Kid is not an Easy Feat My daughter, Mavis has selective mutism. She anxious when she's around stranger, even in kindergarten. So every weekend, we will bring her out, let her get used with crowds. To become a good parent, I have to give my all to support her.

1/ Exercise is Important Recently my boss approached me and said, you already took 10 days MC in 2024. Are you ok? Reflecting on it, it is a sign that my body is weaker than before. So I started my exercise routine: Mon, Wed, Fri: Strength Thu, Sat: Cardio Tue: Badminton

Context: Last year Oct, I switched to a new job with a salary of 40% increase from previous one. It was a big turning point in my life. It made me felt that I don't have to keep up with content creation anymore with this extra cash flow. So I took a break to reset my life.
