Today’s reviewed/formalized morpheme was “-ed.” We reflected on all the things we did this week and recorded the past tense verbs. Then we categorized by what sound the “-ed” made. #morphology

This morning we worked on jigsaw puzzles with our new groups and reviewed oral communications skills. When teachers heard helpful group talk, they recorded it on a sticky and gave it to students to add to add to the chart. Collaborating every day!

Today we reviewed/formalized the suffix -ing. (Some students noted that we were also reviewing verbs!) We watched the trailer for the movie Elemental and listed all of the things we saw characters doing. #morphology #OntEd

Day 10 and yes, we’re still working collaborative challenges into each day! This morning, Ss wrote their room, grade and school and drew a pic of their teacher…with everyone controlling the marker at once! Go teams! @manwrdsb

Suffixes -s/-es got a whole lot more interesting…yesterday we looked at nouns using an I Spy and today we listened for verbs while watching a soccer highlights reel. (Sportscasts are great for 3rd-person singular present tense!) #morphology #OntEd
