Yeah this is why I prefer CLI agents - keeps my AI agent context separate from the coding context.
"I use AI in a separate window. I don't enjoy Cursor or Windsurf, I can literally feel competence draining out of my fingers.". @dhh, the legendary programmer and creator of Ruby on Rails has the most beautiful and philosophical idea about what AI takes away from programmers.

That Amp works as is with no changes when working with Anthropic API vs GCP API is proof that Anthropic are not doing something to make Claude Code dumb as demand increases, no? . The obvious answer to me is it's just the randomness and people working on bigger stuff.
Switch to Amp to keep building right now. You can sign up and install it in <60 seconds (VS Code or fork thereof, or CLI). It's Claude Sonnet 4 plus other models used when needed, and it's magically still up (b/c GCP Vertex redundancy).

So how does Cline make money? The only thing I can see is they want to be acquired.
Here's why we decided to (1) make Cline open source and (2) not make inference reselling part of our business model:. When you control the inference (the AI model calls) and we build the harness (the system directing those calls), neither party can obscure what's happening. You.

Is "moon-landing moment" even a proper term to use. After landing on the moon, we haven't done anything much about it and haven't even returned to it yet after the initial missions.
It’s hard to overstate the significance of this. It may end up looking like a “moon‑landing moment” for AI. Just to spell it out as clearly as possible: a next-word prediction machine (because that's really what it is here, no tools no nothing) just produced genuinely creative.
