#AskPreet We can admire US legal system; easily name terrible systems (autocratic countries). Western democracies generally good. Can you name a specific country (not-US) you believe has a distinctive and admirable legal system and explain why? Geneva fan.

Fan of @elonmusk but this is objectively bad news. He is a carbon-based human who can choke on a pretzel like all of us - heaven forbids. Then what?

#Switzerland should eliminate #wealthtax and compensate by introducing an #inheritancetax (above CHF 25 million). Much fairer and entrepreneurial. Best country to do business in the world.

Why so difficult to benchmark / compare performance of #PrivateEquity . managers present performance based on cash-flow, not commitments. misleading. only super-pros get it.

There is one main threat to western democracies. The extreme 10% on the left and right. The main objective of the middle 80% is to squash these extremes then debate, vote on and follow the democratic outcome.

This is my 30th year as a professional investor with a focus on #privateequity. Still shocks me how the smartest and wealthiest entrepreneurs, professionals and families are so illiterate when it comes to investing.

Why is no one talking about low-probability, but not inconceivable scenarios - for example, heaven forbids, what happens in the low probability case of the incapacitation next year of @elonmusk post @Twitter acquisition?.

I find the dramatic drop of #nasdaq puzzling. Arguably, the components are less susceptible than S&P and SPI (Switzerland, my area of interest) to monetary tightening, higher interest rates, supply chain issues, etc. Demand for tech is super high. Huh?

No advice, just facts. According to my Bloomberg terminal, Meta / Facebook is trading at 8.4x Total Market Value to EBITDA down from 15.9x in 2021. No debt. About $48 billion in cash. Analyst recommendations: 43 buys, 15 holds and 3 sells. Conclusion?.

I have been meditating almost daily since December 2021 using @SamHarrisOrg excellent app #wakingup. I want to endorse unequivocally, but I am not sure that I can. Does the practice create some existential gloom? More experience required.

Insight starting my 30th year as a #privateequity investor. For non-tech investment, #PE investment firms primarily add value through #leverage / #debt. More important, they control when investors exit / sell their investments.

#AskPreet please add your normative opinions in the excellent new segments where you explain to us non-lawyers nuances about US law. For example, what are your thoughts on grand juries? Are they effective, superficial or hinder justice? Big fan from Switzerland.
