My vets are great, and doing everything they can, but the treatment's not cheap - largely because it's so new, and because it's an 85 day marathon. But it has a 90% success rate, so we're hopeful. I just gotta meet them half way.

FIP mutates from the feline coronavirus aka cat flu, so this was probably when it happened. She's been losing weight and mobility in her hind legs, but she's never stopped loudly demanding cuddles and rolling on my shoulder until I love her.

Kiri's had a rough run of it. I got her as she was recovering from hernia surgery - she had two blissful weeks of kittenhood before going down with a brutal case of cat flu, worsened by worms. She recovered, but never really regained condition or energy.

After losing Rescue last year, this has been brutal. Kiri has a good chance, but the treatment isn't cheap. My vets are great and doing everything they can, and I'm lucky to be in a country where this treatment is even available. Antivirals for FIP have been out since last year.

TW: pet death Yesterday I said goodbye to Rescue, my best little friend and my beloved snot goblin. It wasn't fair to make her stay for me, even though all I want is one more day with her. Tinycat, you loved everyone with everything in your daft tiny body and they loved you.

Rescue is finally on the mend, after three rounds of antibiotics and a veritable snot-blitz. She wears a harness to the vet because she prefers it to a carrier, and her only currently fitting harness is her Halloween Angel wing harness.
