jujur this whole thing is so interesting to look at from a psychosocial perspective. i don’t wanna say it’s exclusive to indo society (soalnya ada jg kok negative review luar yang ke-dogpile), tapi kenapa kalo indo skalanya lebih besar dibanding apa yg ku liat di luar

another scene was when na willa was called a slur, which came out of nowhere in the movie. it wouldve been so much better if the movie showed her gradual exposure towards discrimination so that the slur scene didnt come as much as a surprise and not as out of nowhere

i was genuinely pissed off at the marriage scene where the bride was crying, yet instead of explaining why she cried (it not being her choice, catering for the family, etc.), the direction of the scene was made into a lighthearted-comedy which completely misses the mark

this movie has so many interesting plot points that were just left UNBAKED and serve no purpose to the growth of na willa as an individual. any contentious points in her life were simply disregarded, either as funny haha comedy or given a surface level explanation
