The view and sounds from Bethlehem in the West Bank, just a couple miles from Jerusalem, as air raid sirens and faint booms are heard in the distance, as Israel works to intercept Iranian missiles sent in response to an Israeli-US attack on Iran earlier today

BBC Verify has pieced together verified videos, satellite imagery and expert views after a deadly attack near a primary school in Minab, souther Iran, which suggest the area was hit more than once "by multiple simultaneous or near-simultaneous strikes". https://t.co/Gi9Jc5jzPj

Jets roar over downtown Amman. Life is going on as normal, with people out and about buying things ahead of Iftar during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

More sirens, followed after this by a distant boom, over Amman, as I receive notifications for missile attacks headed to Israel. On the streets here, traffic is flowing, and when I was outside I saw people walking and shopping.

Monday morning in Amman, Jordan, where alerts just sounded. I saw a missile pass in the sky, heading in the direction of Israel, and heard a couple booms of likely interceptions. State media reported Jordan’s military had intercepted drones and missiles on Saturday and Sunday.

At northern Jordan-Israeli border, sirens sounded followed by at least five missiles passing in the sky. Afterwards, distant booms were heard. Hard to believe the reactions of tourists to what is causing death and destruction for residents in the region.

Passing through East Jerusalem - some cars on the roads and quiet, despite missile alerts to take cover in this area about 10 minutes ago.

As attacks continue across the Middle East, busloads of tourists are departing Bethlehem this morning - leaving hotels, restaurants and guides again without business, after two years of war in Gaza and before that COVID-19 crippled the West Bank city’s critical tourism business.

Awoke to hear more sirens in Bethlehem, West Bank, this morning, the day after Israel and the US attacked Iran. Alerts sounded in Israel overnight, where one woman in Tel Aviv was killed in a strike. More than 200 people have been reported killed in Iran.

From 10:00 to 12:00, notifications to shelter in place because of expected incoming rocket fire came in a steady stream. Sirens and booms were heard in the distance, with the largest burst around 11:15. I am told by people in Bethlehem there are no bomb shelters here, nor sirens.

In Bethlehem in the West Bank, I received Israeli Home Front Command notifications about half an hour ago to stay near shelters as Israeli government announced that it had launched a preemptive attack on Iran. All quiet here for now.
