Monday morning in Amman, Jordan, where alerts just sounded. I saw a missile pass in the sky, heading in the direction of Israel, and heard a couple booms of likely interceptions. State media reported Jordan’s military had intercepted drones and missiles on Saturday and Sunday.

At northern Jordan-Israeli border, sirens sounded followed by at least five missiles passing in the sky. Afterwards, distant booms were heard. Hard to believe the reactions of tourists to what is causing death and destruction for residents in the region.

After a couple hours of quiet, more sirens ring out and booms sound in the distance in Bethlehem.

From 10:00 to 12:00, notifications to shelter in place because of expected incoming rocket fire came in a steady stream. Sirens and booms were heard in the distance, with the largest burst around 11:15. I am told by people in Bethlehem there are no bomb shelters here, nor sirens.

The US embassy in Israel has warned all flights from Tel Aviv are also cancelled.

Schools in Bethlehem, normally held on Saturday to observe the Muslim holy day on Friday and Christian holy day on Sunday, are cancelled.
