Hedy was also "ignored" because she attached her married name to the patent. It was only in the late 1990s that someone connected her with the original patent. I do not think that George was purposely ignored because of a "narrative".
@maddoghall @timecaptales @fasc1nate Hate to inform you but they were not trying to play songs as the torpedo was launched by stuffing a piano in a torpedo but to guide the torpedo and prevent jamming. He was her next door neighbor but he is always ignored because it does not fit the narrative.

The comment came from people at the Navy trying to utilize the concept of frequency hopping and synchronization to a torpedo. Radio was still in its infancy in the mid 1940s and the electronics to do this type of frequency hopping was too large and power hungry for a torpedo.

I never said that George was not coordinating player pianos before they worked on the patent. She did recruit him to apply the synchronization to the problem of radio frequencies controlling torpedoes.
@maddoghall @timecaptales @fasc1nate She did not recruit him or hire him like you are saying to try to diminish his role. He knew her before they worked on the patent. In fact, he worked on synchronizing or programming multiple player pianos for musical scores before they ever met.

I agree with my old friend, but the real answer to this is to vote to replace the Sinemas, Manchins and other "representatives" with people who will re-write the tax laws (and other laws) to make them easier and fairer to everyone.
@SenatorSinema ‘s defense of this gift to billionaires ( carried interest) is just about as clueless as her defense of the filibuster.

States rights tend to break down on something like who can marry who. If you marry in a state that allows same-sex marriage, then move to a state that does not allow it, are you "un-married"? That was what this bill was about...if he had read it.

While I basically agree with this, I also would have liked to see Senator Bernie Sanders amendment added to it. Giving the money "no strings attached" means that the companies just pull the strings.

I too have had two massive heart attacks. I also worry about whether my husband will get survivor benefits....or have the right to terminate my life in case of brain-death. Will my fundamentalist Christian brother be allowed to make that decision instead?

I am a Justice of the Peace in New Hampshire for over thirty years. I perform the marriage ceremonies that many religions did not and some still do not perform. Divorcees, atheists, etc. I proudly fought for the legislature of NH to pass marriage equality before Obergefell.
