@AlphaSchoolATX Just read an incredible @Substack by Jessica Berg at Ellis Elementary. Their school ditched the traditional classroom model and grouped students by reading skill, not grade level. The result? 72% of “at-risk” students hit or exceeded the end-of-year benchmark.

A lot of people assume I’m anti-teacher. I’m not. I co-founded @AlphaSchoolATX because I believe teachers deserve better tools and kids deserve a system that doesn’t hold them back or leave them behind. The traditional model fails both. So we built something better.

There has never been a more exciting time to be a 5-year-old. We lit up our cities 150 years ago. Now it's time to light up young minds. Let's stop settling for 'fine' just because that's how we grew up. Our kids deserve better. And now we can deliver it.

We're not replacing teachers with robots. We're freeing teachers to be human. We're giving every child a personalized education that adapts to them. The switch is ready to flip.

Our teachers are thriving. No more lesson plans. No more grading homework. No more lecturing to blank stares. Instead, they focus on what humans do best: motivational and emotional support. They actually get to know each student and help them grow.

Kids who start in the 10th percentile reach the 90th percentile within 2 years. Students who cross the border from Mexico daily, speaking no English, end the year at the 99th percentile in reading. AI doesn't care if you're rich or poor, advanced or behind.

Wrong. In Brownsville, Texas (the 2nd poorest school district in America) we're seeing the same results. Half our students are SpaceX employees' kids, half are local kids living below the poverty line. Both groups perform identically.
