I’m definitely not saying you shouldn’t get a dog, but I am saying that you need to be smart. Dogs, cats, birds, horses, pigs, and any other domestic animal are not here for your amusement or enjoyment. They are living, breathing creatures and deserve love and respect.

Think about what kind of dog you can handle. Is your living situation conducive to a large or small dog? Is it a safe place for them to stay while your away at work? What about your work schedule? Do you work odd hours? Will your time at home be sporadic?

IF you are planning on getting an animal, plan for the future. Factor in your expenses (during life before #COVID19 ) to make sure you can afford the upkeep. Think about vet bills, grooming, food, toys, beds, etc.

Are you going to turn them loose? Let them out in the wild? Return them to a breeder/shelter? Rip them away from what they are now familiar with? Or worse?

Are you going to lock them up all day? Something they’ve rarely done during #Quarantine ? Are you going to realise the responsibility is too much now that life is normal? Their normal now revolves around you.
