It was with great sadness that this afternoon I learned that my nephew, Jordan, 18, had been stabbed to death in Dagenham last night. His mother is inconsolable. If you are gang member, this message is for you. Drop your knife and quit the gangster life before it is too late.

On Saturday 10 Jan, we were out door knocking in our ward, listening to residents in Mayfair Ave, Alexandra Rd, South Rd and West Rd. Some raised concerns about bin delays over Christmas — pleased this was quickly resolved, with collections made shortly before our visit.

✨ Honoured to join Grace Church’s Crossover Service and speak with so many inspiring young people as we welcomed 2026. My sincere thanks to Pastor Dieudonné for the opportunity to address and encourage the next generation. Grateful for a powerful night of faith and community.

Yesterday and today, I joined the Barking and Dagenham Labour team — first in Barking Riverside and today in Eastbrook — braving the cold weather to speak with residents about the issues that matter most to them. Great conversations on the doorstep and strong support for Labour.

Yesterday, as Chair of Health Scrutiny, I led a key discussion on the interim health facility at Barking Riverside: a much-needed service for our fast-growing community. Costs for the temporary hub have jumped from £650k to £950k, with extra funding now coming from BRL and SCIL.

Yesterday I shared photos of us preparing the hall — and today I’m delighted to show how it all came together. The Barkingside & Redbridge Rotary Club Christmas Community Lunch was a wonderful success! A full room, great company, live music, and even some dancing 🎶💃🏽🕺🏽

I raised concerns after a Post Office client with mobility issues had to park far away. The Council will convert a bay near Rose Lane Post Office into a disabled space - bringing dignity, safety & easier access for those who need it most. This is how inclusion becomes real.
